Canon launches PowerShot G12, S95, SX 30 and Three Other Cameras in India
Canon launched six digital cameras in Indian market. The new line-up includes the highly-acclaimed Powershot G12, S95 and SX 30. There are also two new IXUS cameras - the IXUS 300 HS and IXUS 1000 HS. Alongside the premium PowerShot series, Canon also launched the more affordable and compact zoom, the PowerShot SX 130 IS.
Canon PowerShot G12
The latest addition to the G series, the PowerShot G12 is the first G-series model to feature Canon’s HS System – a powerful combination of a high-sensitivity 10.0 Megapixel CCD sensor and high-performance DIGIC 4 processor. The PowerShot G12 features a 28mm wide-angle 5x optical zoom lens, which has been developed using the same processes and quality standards employed to manufacture Canon’s range of EF lenses,. The G12 feature EOS-style front control dial, Hybrid IS for close-up work, and 720p HD video recording. It also adds multi-aspect ratio shooting and SDXC card compatibility, 2.8" tilt and swivel LCD, manual control and RAW shooting. The Canon PowerShot G12 is priced at Rs. 31,995.
Canon PowerShot S95
The PowerShot S95 is a premium compact camera with an upgraded sensor capable of 720p HD video recording and 'Hybrid IS' system along with multi-aspect raio shooting and SDXC card compatibility. Other than these, it features the control ring, 28-105mm F2.0-4.9 stabilized lens and 3.0" LCD. The PowerShot S95 also includes Canon’s HS System – a combination of a high-sensitivity 10.0 Megapixel CCD sensor and powerful DIGIC IV processing. The HS System enables the camera to support a maximum ISO of 3200 at full resolution and works to reduce the occurrence of noise at all ISO speeds for high quality images.
Users can also set their own parameters in Auto ISO mode, with the ability to limit the maximum ISO speed they want to employ during shooting. The camera also features the low light mode that enables higher speed shooting, capturing up to 3.9 shots per second. The Canon PowerShot S95 is priced at Rs. 26,995.
Canon PowerShot SX 30
The PowerShot SX30 IS provides full manual control, HD movie recording and a number of creative and automatic shooting modes – delivering as much or as little creative assistance as desired. The superzoom features a 24-840mm equivalent wide-angle 35x zoom lens, a 2.7" articulated LCD and a 14.1Mp sensor. It also includes Ultrasonic (USM) and Voice Coil (VCM) motors for faster and quieter zooming and focusing. The camera offers 720p HD recording, a Miniature effect movie mode, P/A/S/M shooting modes and a Zoom Framing Assist function that helps users quickly toggle between three preset zoomed-out positions at the longer end of the lens for better framing. Other design features, including a 6.8cm (2.7”) vari-angle LCD screen and hot shoe, also allow users to extend their creativity by shooting from different angles and with a range of compatible Canon accessories. Canon PowerShot SX 130 IS
The Canon PowerShot SX 130 is a compact zoom camera and a successor to the PowerShot SX 120 IS. It features a 12MP against the 10MP on the older SX 120 IS, a longer 12x zoom range starting at 28mm, gains SDXC support, offers HD movie recording and additional scene modes including a Miniaturze mode. The rest of the features remain the same including a 3.0" LCD, P/A/S/M shooting, image stabilization and AA battery power. It is priced at Rs.14,995.
Canon IXUS 1000 HS
Measuring 22mm at the thinnest side, the IXUS 1000 HS is the world’s slimmest super zoom camera. The camera features Canon’s 'HS' system promising better low-light performance and high-speed photography, a 10MP back-illuminated CMOS sensor and 2.7 inch LCD, a longer 10x zoom range starting at a rather over-long 36mm equivalent. The image-stabilized camera can record full HD movies as well as Super Slow Motion movies at 240fps. Pushing the boundaries with 10x optical zoom, the IXUS 1000 HS retains a beautifully styled, compact metal body. The camera also boasts of a highly-effective optical Image Stabilizer designed with advanced lens-shift technology, providing the perfect tool for consistently capturing clearly defined, blur-free images. The camera also features a new, intelligent Handheld Night Scene mode also makes it easy to take beautiful night shots without a tripod, combining several shots taken in succession into one sharp and optimally-exposed picture A 7.6 cm (3.0”). Canon IXUS 300 HSThe IXUS 300 HS is a 10.0-megapixel sensor, a 3.8x zoom lens and a 3.0-inch 230k monitor. The sensor is a newly-designed back-illuminated CMOS chip, offering significantly better light-gathering capabilities than conventional designs. The lens has a focal length range equivalent to 28-105mm, but more importantly it has a maximum aperture of an exceptionally fast f/2 at wide angle, again improving the low light performance. Special features include 720p HD video with stereo sound, 240fps high-speed video, 3.7fps full-resolution still shooting and optional manual exposure modes.
